Summer Forum has Guest Speakers from St. Paul's Family

From July 12 the Sunday Forum has been led by guest speakers from our St. Paul's family giving presentations on topics of interest to them. The forum will not meet on August 16, as many regular forum attenders are members of the vestry which meets at the same time on the 16th. On August 23, Susan Adams will discuss walking in nature as a form of medition. After you've enjoyed a snack and a bit of conversation at coffee hour, head to the library for the discussion.
August Outreach for Living Healthy Free Medical Clinic

During the month of August, we will be collecting monetary donations for the Living Healthy Free Medical Clinic. The free primary medical clinic treats uninsured patients in the Alcorn County area on the second Wednesday and fourth Saturday of each month. There is no cost to the patient for their services.
You may put donations in the Sunday collection plate or in the Outreach basket on Outreach Sunday, the last Sunday of the month. Please write "Outreach" on your check memo line or on an envelope with cash donations.
Thank you to all who donate generously to Outreach at St. Paul's.
Give & Take Table in the Parish Hall

Have you noticed the long table in the parish hall between the 2023 and 2013 St. Paul's Pentecost Day pictures of our congregation? It's a place to give things you think would interest others at St. Paul's. (No clothing at this time, please.) Items left for longer than four weeks will be donated to the Salvation Army or Goodwill or another charity that could use them. You are welcome to bring a few items each month and to take anything that appeals to you.

Taizé Service on First Sunday Evenings

Invite a friend to our Taizé service at St. Paul's on the first Sunday of each month (unless a schedule change is announced) at 5:30 pm. This refreshing service with candles, a prayerful form of music, and centering prayer, is a great way to start your month.
Chair yoga on Thursdays at 10:00am
Certified yoga instructor Karen Beth Martin leads a chair yoga class in our parish hall. The gentle exercises in the class, using a chair for standing and seated yoga-based positions, are geared toward seniors and tailored to the abilities of those attending. The classes are open to all in the community who want to improve strength, flexibility and balance. A $5 donation is suggested but not required. For more information, contact Karen Beth at 662-322-5004. The chair yoga class will not meet on May 28 but will be back the following Thursday, June 4.
Eating Disorders Anonymous has Changed Location
The Eating Disorders Anonymous (EDA) group that met at St. Paul's on Saturday mornings at 10am has changed its meeting location. "The only requirement for membership is the desire to recover from an eating disorder. There are no dues or fees. There are no diets or food plans. Balance - not abstinence - is our goal. We focus on solutions to issues so we can lead happy and purposeful lives." For more information on the new location, contact corinthEDA@gmail.com.
A Prayer for St. Paul's
O Lord, we ask your blessing on us as a community of faith. Guide us as we search for right paths in our common journey. Challenge us always to be open to the views of others, for it is only with tolerance and understanding that we grow. Fill us with a generous spirit that through our abundance we will share with those in need. Inflame our passion to discern the ministries to which you call us, and give us the courage and determination to live our call. As we gather in your name, remind us never to hold each other's hand so tightly that we cannot make room for others in the circle, and, dear Shepherd, grant us the love and grace to face our tomorrows without fear by always entrusting our todays to your care and guidance. Amen. Prayer composed by the Rev. Dr. Nicholas Phillips
